Christmas at the Cathedral is an annual outdoor event, staged by the Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney, on the forecourt of St Mary’s Cathedral.
The event is an evening festival at St Mary’s which draws families, children, community groups, tourists and the general public to the Cathedral to experience the spectacular light and sound show projected onto the facade of the Cathedral.
In the lead up to the projection show each evening, the forecourt will host two hours of performances and a selection of market stalls offering food and drink, Christmas wares, homewares, trinkets, packaged Christmas delicacies and entertainment for the children.

Stall Opening Times: 5:30pm – 10:30pm
Venue: St Mary’s Cathedral Forecourt, College St, Sydney 2000 (outdoor event)
Stallholder Offering and Selection:
In 2025, the event will offer a variety of food cuisines, drinks and snack stalls and trade stalls aimed at Christmas products, gifts, homewares and similar.
Stallholders will be selected based on their products, menu and consideration will be given to pricing. It is our intention to ensure that there are no competing stalls in the Marketplace, to maximise the exposure and visitation to each stallholder (with the exception of bottled/can drinks which are offered at food stalls with meals).
Applications for the 2025 Marketplace are now closed.
